This is my grandmother, Maria Lorenza.
In 1993, she opened a tiny stall inside the historic Farmers Market building at Market Square in the heart of downtown San Antonio. As an immigrant from Mexico, she imagined a way to bring the beauty of her home country to San Antonio. With her keen eye for beauty, she quickly became a beloved part of the Market Square community.
And This is Me!
I am a mother, entrepreneur, and recent graduate of UT Austin with a degree in Mexican American and Latino Studies.
As a child, my sister and I would spend all day at Lorenza’s, running around Market Square, weaving between tourists and locals, buying sweets from the candy shop and marveling at the treasures of Market Square.

Since 1993, Lorenza's has been a labor of love for our family.

When COVID-19 devastated small businesses across the country, I decided to help my grandmother bring Lorenza’s to a wider audience. We opened our second location at Painted Tree Park North in San Antonio, built this website and got Abuelita on Social Media!
We specialize in fine Talavera, vibrant folk art, Dia de los Muertos decor and more. Every single piece is chosen personally by my grandmother and me, bringing the most beautiful, unique, and masterfully crafted items from artisans across Mexico straight to you.
